On week 3, 25 of April 2014, our lecturer did a challenge or game during the class. Its sound interesting when our lecturer announced that and we so excited as well. The challenge's name is marshmallow challenge. It was the first time i heard about the challenge. i'm quite blur first of all, and after my lecturer explained details about the challenge, i'm clear eventually. The Marshmallow Challenge is a remarkably fun and instructive design exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, innovation and creativity. The task is simple: in eighteen minutes, teams must build the tallest free-standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. The marshmallow needs to be on top. In this task, we divided to six group and each group have a five person. During this task we had so much fun and at the end of the challenge, surprising lessons emerge when you compare teams’ performance. Who tends to do the worst? Why? Who tends to do the best? Why? What improves performance? What kills it?
